Barenaked Ladies is definitely a spring/summer time music to me. Part of it is the summer nostalgia goggles but I still like them.
I really love their tempo, it's mostly chill but still kind of upbeat and cheery.
They also had fun and silly lyrics in a lot of their songs. Just fun and cheery and happy. It's too bad the singer left. I really love these guys.
Unfortunately I can't embed any of these videos because Warner Bros. Record disabled embedding on their account.

Summer spotlight part 1 [Sublime]
It's summer time, which means it's time for summer music. I'll be posting at least one artist spotlight per week, and a kind of grab bag randomly containing music that embodies summer for me. It will mostly be ska-like music because I associate that with summertime.
Up first we have the obligatory.
Doin' Time/Summer Time by Sublime
Next are just a few other by Sublime. I used to hear Sublime all the time on the radio and in the car cruising around Fairfax with my mom and sister. Sublime has kind of become my summertime theme.
Santeria by Sublime
And what is summer without a little lovin'?
Caress Me Down by Sublime [Warning, explicit (and implicit) sexual tones]
In short: Sublime is great summertime music for me. Feel free to express what you think is your "Summer time anthem."

Internet Spotlight: Captain Dan and the Scurvy Crew
Pirate rap!? You bet. This here is Captain Dan and the Scurvy Crew.
This first song here has lots of suggestive lines, tons of innuendo. I mean, modern music + pirates is just asking for double entendres. Booty. Chest. Etc.

Every Day I'm Shufflin'
Lately I've been listening to this song by LMFAO called Party Rock Anthem. Even when I am not listening to it, it still plays in my head.
I've also inadvertently learned how to shuffle.
Party Rock Anthem by LMFAO
I love the video along with the song, and the black guy in the beginning reminds me of Louis from Left4Dead, not sure if it's intended but who knows.
This guy friggin' loves shopping

internet spotlight: Fredgperry
Sure these videos are a bit old but I still find them to be some of the most awesome ever. Now, I don't know much about this person, Fredgperry but he has a YouTube channel at http://www.youtube.com/user/fredgdperry but from what I can see he hasn't made anything recently. Hopefully he will be back into making awesome videos again.

Internet spotlight: Mastgrr
I'd like to make a post about one of my favorite internet remix artists: Mastgrr
He has made lots of remixes involving TF2 and L4D stuff which is how I first found him. As far as I know he has no website of his own, but is on last.fm at http://www.last.fm/music/Mastgrr and soundcloud at http://soundcloud.com/mastgrr

Video game dubstep
Song of Storms Dubstep Remix by Ephixa
Listen in 1080p if you can. It's amazing.
TF2 by Control
I certainly love me some dubstep remixes of video games. I've heard plenty more than these but these are the only ones I could find with embedding.
